I have being using my old PC as a media pc and recently i have being having problems with the picture breaking up during playback.

I have tried old & new gfx drivers, clean install with only media player classic (latest build) & passkey installed and still have the same problem. I also have this problem with Powerdvd12 (latest)

Looking at gpu-z the gfx card temperatures during playback around 50 degrees. (using dxva)

Here is a quick vid to show what i'm on about (will probs be easier to understand)

Any ideas as atm this is heading for the window

Q6600 (no overclock)
4GB RAM
XFX 6450
Xonar DG
Samsung SH-B123L BluRay Drive.

Have you opened it up to blow all the dust and cobwebs out - just a thought (looks like a heat issue is all)

yeah i clean it out every 3 months or so mate. Could maybe a heat issue as it is in my bedroom which is a small box room and get quite hot. Case is a fractal design R3 which 2x 120mm Fractal design fans (blowing in), 1x Akasa viper on my H50 (blowing in) & 1x 140mm Akasa viper at the top (exhaust)

I have installed my old card and problem is still there, the only other card i have is in my main PC (5850) ... is it worth trying this as both cards i have tried are passive cooled.

think i may of found my problem, i ripped the same Blu Ray to my media server and streaming over my network looks to work perfect.

I only get a problem when playing direct from my Samsung SH-B123L Blu Ray drive so going to try another drive tomorrow.

Swapped the Samsung Blu Ray drive today for my LG drive and works perfect.

I tried the Samsung drive in my main PC and that also looks to work without any problems  any ideas as to why this is?
