Picture Thoughts Please.

Quality/fileformat used to compress it for web use?

Also possible that photobucket recompresses uploads though wouldn't know about that - though png shouldn't really suffer like that.

Photobucket does, and that host is pants, don't use it use imgur instead as it's better quality wise and just better full stop.

As for the photo, to me anyway it feels like there's not enough motion in it for the crop it's employing. That suits something with a bit more of the track in view with the car framed accordingly. What was the shoot specification?

There's some blurring. Maybe it's compression, but maybe you needed to use a shorter exposure time if you want a sharper picture (look at the tyres and the nose). You also have glare on the nose.

It's still a better picture than I've managed to take recently.

i look at it here in lightroom and it looks in focus, when i post it here it looks awful

Is it sharp when you view at 100%? Could be down to the fact you're looking at it at a smaller resolution when you're in Lightroom then it's not quite as sharp when you export. Make sure JPEG quality is lot really low and choose low/medium sharpening for web.

I'm in work so can't really view it properly but the quality looks terrible, what camera did you use?

Maybe it's the processing afterwards, looks like a lot of noise reduction that has taken away all the detail or it's been heavily cropped.

i am just playing with lightroom if I'm honest, never used it before. Its from a 5d m3 so shouldn't be terrible. 70-300mm lens, but its on full zoom, and it is cropped a fair bit

Yeah having seen the other shot, the one I was referring to certainly suffered from over processing.

What was the first picture in the thread like from camera? I guess it was also cropped a lot?
