If I go into the picture folder i can see a thumb image of the photo I want. But, if I double click on the thumb image to get a bigger image, i get this,
capture2pl.jpg

Downloaded that picture viewer from Windows live Essentials, but I still can't get to see the thumb image any bigger. Also when I copied it to dvd- r, and click on it, I get the same error, plus I don't get a thumb image. Anybody any ideas.

Looks like the default file association has been corrupted. Look for a default file association fix for windows 7 (I guess thats the OS you're on). Do you have any other files that dont seem to want to open despite you know that they are?

You can go here for a list of reg fixes that help.

Right click > properties > General tab > Opens with: click change button then.

Edit: Not sure that will do it for all files of the same extension like the reg fixes above will.

That did it, downloaded the jpg from that link, then installed it into my registary, and it worked. It worked ok yesterday, and not today. I used Acronis to do a copy to another drive, and somehow the registary got corrupted. Thanks

There is malware that does this but it is normally .exe it messes with the most. So if it keeps happening worth scanning with Malwarebytes and your AV if you haven't.

I'd go with above. That's what ive seen get taken out (exe). That list is always handy to have around.

Worth installing Picassa, it has an awesome replacement for the windows viewer
