Does anyone use Picture Window Pro? I downloaded their trial and it looks quite interesting and is shockingly fast.

I like the idea of an editing program that has been designed purely for photo editing rather than the Photoshop general image program. This must be what allows it to be so small and fast. The dl is about 4MB and installed it is only 14MB. Startup is virtually instant. Cost is just over £50 which compares pretty well with PS ;) It also seems to run on Linux under wine with a bit of fiddling.

There is loads of documentation available on the site for dl covering tutorials on the program itself and imaging editing in general. The developers post regularly on the forums as well which is good.

I am new to image editing and just trying different programs out and haven't had much time with PWP yet so I would be interested to hear what others think.

Interesting, and I think Apple Aperture is a similar idea as well, isn't it? PS is an alround graphics prog maily designed for designers and graphics professionals rather than photographers. As I said I am a noob with these programs but PWP sounds pretty full featured for photographic use but the difference between it and PS in speed is huge. I would strongly advice everyone to install PWP, even if you have no intention of using it, just to marvel at how quick it is :D I think I will at least use it to work through the tutorials as they look very good and I am sure much of it will apply to whatever program I end up using.

I bet the new Adobe prog and Apple Aperture cost a bit more than £50 as well ;)
