Pictures and scanning?

Hi all, not sure if this is in the correct place.

I am after a colour printer/scanner/wifi with a fax if poss.

The main reason is for my mum, she has thousands of photos that she would like to scan into one place, what would be the best printer to get with photo scanning at good quality as some of the photos are very old. Is there a worthwhile program to get get for this purpose ?

Cheap to run aswell if poss, no real budget and I'm happy to buy an inkjet.

Check out the Canon Pixma MX870. Seems to fit your requirements and is highly rated.

Software wise, check out what comes with the printer first, other than that I can't really help as I use Photoshop, but you probably don't want to spend 3 times the price of the device on software.....
