[Heather] Mills told Newsnight that in early 2001 she had had a row with former Beatle Sir Paul, who later left a conciliatory message on her voicemail while she was away in India. According to Ms Mills, afterwards a senior Mirror Group Newspapers journalist rang her and "started quoting verbatim the messages from my machine".
...
The journalist whom Ms Mills said contacted her is not CNN presenter Piers Morgan, who was the editor of the Daily Mirror at the time. However, the message in question appears to be the same as one which Mr Morgan later admitted to having listened to. In a 2006 article in the Daily Mail, Mr Morgan referred to having heard a recorded message which Sir Paul had left for Ms Mills. (BBC online)
There is quite a bit more about this scurrilous allegation in relation to Moron in the latest issue (#1294) of Private Eye (pg. 6), including the suggestion that McCartney's message included his singing "We can work it out." :D

can we not just have one thread for all the hacking ****?

Does anyone really care any more? I was sick of hearing about it a week after it started!

Can you please just post a normal topic using real names instead of just tabloid style sensationalist garbage?

Piers Morgan is knees deep in the ****, the Mirror Group are actually worse than News International on Hacking.

Why do you say "actually worse"? I find that hard to believe because I don't think it's possible to go any lower than News International, equally bad maybe but at the moment there's not much info about what the Mirror Group have been up to.

Same here, I read Piers, then Moron and everything just fell into place.
Well, aren't you the clever PC Plod? :p

Bear in mind that Piers Moron used to work for News International; in fact, I believe that he was at one stage the editor of the News of the Screws and Rupert Murdoch's blue-eyed boy.

As to other tabloids, I believe that there are suggestions that the Daily Wail may even have been more enthusiastic than the News of the Screws over hacking and blagging information

I agree however, that News International do seem to have dived further into the sewer than any other media group.

Can we please ban him the next time he creates a thread title like that and insists on using tabloid style names for people?

It's honestly frying my box. :(

On a topic related note, yes Stockhausen we know journalists aren't bastions of good behaviour. Could you please stop spamming the boards with multiple threads for new developments in EXISTING topics. Nobody cares but you.
