Pillarboxing widescreen tv?

Wanting to hookup old console to my oldish tv but its a widescreen and i need 4:3 ratio. Is there some sort of device or converter than can do it?

Is there not just an option for 4:3 under the tv's zoom settings (rather than it being set to "Auto")

The sharp tv i got does have 4:3 setting but not the Samsung tv. I will check through the menus incase its somewhere else in there
