Pimax Crystal Standalone/Wireless

If anyone has it yet or has anyone seen reviews detailing how good the standalone/wireless functionality is this is my killer requirement as I always end up ripping out cables if I'm tethered it's why I'm currently still rocking a quest 2

The standalone and wireless is not completed. There have been the odd Pimax promotional video showing them in action but as far as customers go it's not yet a feature. Pimax say the hardware is complete, it's on the software that needs sorting, ETA is unknown afaik.

so the answer is eventually maybe but don't buy expecting to use it today

Maybe they’ll release it as “early access”, just hopefully not in the same state as NMS

standalone is already built into the Crystal its just not enabled yet is my understanding, I assume this goes for the Wifi 6E too
the WiGig module isn't out yet either and not been previewed by the numerous affiliates, so probably 3-4months away at least

personally I think they will come but buying into it now for 'a must have feature' is a risky business

hence why I've cooled off the idea a little until its out and people have confirmed the must have feature exists and works I just can't trust them to deliver what I expect
