Anyone else pre-ordered?

Early pre-orders start shipping from 7th April apparently.

For my use case, which is pretty much exclusively sim racing, this seems pretty good. With a free 14 day return policy I thought it would be worth trying.

Aye, I think a significant new headset like the Super range warrants its own thread.

I'm really torn about what headset to go for. Been waiting to upgrade for a while and it looks like 2025 is the year to do so for sure.

My current possibles list is the BB2, Pimax Super 50ppd, Pimax Dream Air or possibly the Deckard (though I have nagging doubts about the latter). Really want OLED, but microOLED sounds like it's far too dim with pancake lenses. And Pimax as a brand concerns me.

I have a PSVR2 at the moment and the the OLED panels on that have their shortcomings but for certain games it's superb if you supersample significantly and add reshade sharpening. And brightness is also very very good, about 280nits I believe due to the Fresnel lenses. I think the microOLED headsets are less than half this due to the pancakes. But no one ever seems to release actual nit brightness values, it's very easy to do so it's very annoying.

If the local dimming is good on the Pimax Super then it's a definite contender, but it still won't match OLED by a long shot I imagine. Also I just don't trust any of the Youtube VR reviewers to give an accurate description of stuff like local dimming. They all talk out of their arse about nothing of any value. They have entire channels/ careers dedicated to VR headsets, and they don't explain the simple things that everyone wants to know. Only way is to try it yourself.

That's a different headset.

It covers most of the pimax headsets, as they release one every five minutes.
