Hi all, I have a five year old (at least) Antec low End System builder PSU which seems to be whining like a pinging on board speaker when I play games or run 3D Mark

Is this too much load on the ageing PSU?

Card in the System is a GTX 580, FX8120 CPU, 8 Gig RAM, SSD

PSU is 650 Watts

Thanks for looking

Sounds like it

Does anyone have any good recommendations

Just a Modular 750 Watt

I am a bit wary as I know a lot of manufacturers are just getting by on name alone

Looking for something Bomb proof which doesn't cost the world

Not asking much really :)

The Antec high Current Gamer 750w is on offer at the moment for £69.95.

If you want fully modular you need to spend considerably more although these are better units:-

EVGA Supernova G2 750w £94.99 Gold rated unit built by Superflower and based on their Leadex Gold platform with a whopping 10 year warranty.
Superflower Leadex Gold 750w £99.95 Basically the same as the above but has annoying bright led's where you plug the cables in that can't be turned off. Only a 5 year warranty as well.

Ther's also the semi modular Superflower Golden Green HX 750w at £82.99 This one has no led's and a 5 year warranty.
