Pingu the Hamster, gone

I never thought I'd cry again until someone close to me died or I got kicked in the nuts, but when our pet Guinea Pigs Ginger and Pickles died, I blubbed a bit. I felt embarassed for weeping, but they were so funny and they somehow end up feeling like a part of the family.

If anyone I know reads this - remember I know secrets about you too!

RIP Pingu :(

I had a couple of hamsters, at different times, and they brought a lot of happiness. I was very sad when they died.

Hey Steedie, you are not alone of course. They are my little mates!

...but I've got a new one now called Winnie and he's two and a half now too, he's starting to slow down a lot, not coming out his house as much and drinking a lot more water, so I'm preparing myself, I don't think I can have another one after this guy.

It doesn't really matter on the size of the animal, the emotional part will be linked to the joy you got out of them.

Best wishes fellow ham lover!

Sorry for a bit of a bump but felt I needed to finish what I wrote if only for a silly bit of closure for myself.

Found him passed away this morning where I last saw him last night before I went to sleep. It was always the corner he'd move his bedding to and sleep in bless him. Utterly gutted. I share your pain now Steedie, RIP Pingu and Winnie!

So sad

My little brothers Hamster passed away this evening.

My Dad's moved the little thing out and it's inside it's house inside a plastic bag else where.

He's not been told yet (was a sleep at the time) so waiting until the morning to break the news to him. He's been off school all of this week so far and been miserable because he's been seriously ill :( first pet that he will of had die.

Feel really bad for my brother, I'm going to clean my hamster cage out tomorrow so I guess I'll empty his cage for him at the same time :(

Edit, his hamster was called Sprog, as that's my brothers nickname.

R.I.P Sprog.

just try and avoid the connection that illness can lead to death or he might get a wee bit frightened :p

I've been cracking jokes about his aids being fatal all weekend (as soon as either of us is ill it's aids, he's a brilliant 12 year old brother telling people he has aids if they're round and ask how he is)

I think this is to do with how bad I feel :(

Me and the ex got a baby dwarf rabbit a while back. The poor little thing only lived for a few days though. Woke up one morning and she wasn't moving. We think she died due to stress as a result of noise from a tropical storm. :( Wasn't with us for long but still upsetting though. I still remember how she looked in her little shoebox coffin with a flower next to her.

Anyway, RIP pingu. Sounds like he had a good life while he was with you.

My brother has made a little coffin for Sprog so we will sort out a mini funeral.

He's really upset, after being really poorly all week / weekend and now this :(

We lost wee Token in July; similar kinda story. She just kinda went slow in the space of a night, you could see her breathing in and out as if in slow motion. Lay there not moving much if at all, seemed to get better for a week then passed. If anything it just shows the animal was well cared for and passed of age/natural causes. Ive had loads of hamsters over the years and Im 32 now LOL.

Here she is when we just got her, she was called Token because she was mainly black ... South Park fans will know what I mean. She also matched the cat, Flip who can be seen in these shots too.
