PIO Mode only wtf

My harddrives/cdrom drives are in pio mode, for some reason I cant get them to go in dma mode.

I have

Gigabyte GA8-IEXP (F9 bios, latest chipset drivers installed)
seagate hdd's
liteon cdroms

Any idea what to try to force dma mode?

It's set to auto detect in the bios.

Are you overclocking at all?

I seem to remember that happening to me a couple of times, albeit on older systems (socket A or older).

Have you tried uninstalling the IDE drivers and rebooting?

nope no overclocking

What do you mean uninstall the ide drivers? how?
