hi guys

ive been mixing with my cheapo 2 channel mixer and traktor for a few months now and love it  i'm not *too* bad and its something i want to keep doing so was considering buying some second-hand CDJs after christmas

budget is £500 max (depends entirely on what i get for xmas really), i dont want vinyl because ive got thousands of tracks on CD and mp3 and cant afford to buy them again on vinyl :)

looked at the CDJ100 (dont think i'll get some 1000's in my budget :p) but already decided against them because they dont support looping, so was looking at the 200's

can anyone on here with CDJs (especially the cheaper ones), give me some advice?

im into trance mainly and used to having loops and effects like flange etc so would like these too :)

TIA :)

how much is a second-hand pair of 1000s gonna cost?

my mixer is only a cheap £25 2 channel one - so if i got some 1000's surely they'd be wasted with it and need an expensive mixer?

mmm, less that i expected i spose - but still a hell of a lot of money (18, part time job etc) :(

are the 1000s really worth the extra? i've seen them in clubs and drooled over then but never thought i'd be able to afford a pair :(

ive just watched a demo of a denon dns1000 and it can to effects controlled by the jog wheel like high, med, low pass, flange etc can the CDJ1000 do this?

:D

i quite like the looks of 2 CDJ800's:

and a Behringer DJX700:

the mixer has built in effects, high, med, low kill, reverb, flange etc

what does everyone think? :)

i'd have the computer connected to 2 channels and the cdjs connected to the other 2, and use the computer for acapellas, samples etc :)

must admit for £130 i think its damn impressive, ive never used a mixer with cue buttons etc and that many knobs so my first mix will be interesting :p

need to convince my parents that its a worth investment and they may chip in and help me :p

luckily my dads deaf as a doorknob anyway :D

edit: interesting site - thanks :D

mmm the 800 doesnt have the hot cue points :( could you still be messing about cutting a loop etc and hit cue and it play from a preset point though? is the hot-cue the 1000 basically the same just you can store 3?
