are there any pipe smokers on here?

if so, what pipe do you have and whats your favourite baccy? make some baccy recommendations for a newbie.

I'm currently smoking petersons luxury mixture, but find it a little flavourless (room note is awesome though!) which i hear is normal for light aromatic blends.

if anyone live near a decent tobacconist, i'd be mucho interesed in doing some tobacco trades for stuff i cant get here :D

I have a Peterson which you can see here in the bottom of my humidor:

Out of those two tobaccos, I prefer the Sunset Breeze but recently I've been puffing on Petersons Morning Pipe and some Old Dublin. I recommend the Old Dublin :)

Ive heard good things about the sunset breeze, is it a good smoke? an aromatic that smokes cool and has decent flavour would be good, though i dont think such a thing exists.

im off to petersons tomorrow for a new tin of baccy, and im thinking connoisseurs choice or perhaps some sunset breeze. ill ask the fella behind the counter what he recommends

as for pipes, i smoke a peterson system standard 312 which im still breaking in.

i'm particularly fond of the military style bit, which means i can pull it apart mid-smoke/when its hot if needed.

Sunset breeze is very aromatic. It'll fill the room with a very pleasant aroma, akin to the fond memories of pipe tobacco smoke from childhood. It's quite a sweet and easy smoke. Very enjoyable :)

Erinmore is good for beginners i still smoke it now and again my pipe is a Big Ben with filters the filters make a big difference makes the smoke cool and smoooooooth.

A lot of Peterson fans. I like the Irish Oak and Irish Whiskey blends. My grandad used to smoke Norwegian stuff he got turned on to when he was in the Navy during the war. For the life of me I can't remember it's name, but it smelt fantastic.

peterson are an easy go-to for me because i live in dublin (which is where they are based).

I gave my pipe its first alcohol clean last night using some 12 year old caol ila single malt. pipe smells amazing now :D

Reviving an old thread.

I "quit" smoking 5/6 years ago but still enjoy the occasional smoke. I'm interested in acquiring a pipe but I'm not sure where to get it from. Any suggestions?

Not really sure how pipes differ but I suppose I'm after something with a fairly small bowl (or whatever the tobacco holding segment is called) as I don't intend to smoke vast quantities at a time, and a longish neck (again, not sure of the terminology) to give the smoke some time to cool a little.

Also, any tobacco recommendations would be appreciated. Anything fruity that's worth a go?

A case to conceal the pipe's smell would useful too.

I don't know you from Adam but I desperately want you to be my friend if you don't mind my saying so.
A proper pipe smoker! A rare breed these days.
I'm a bit of an Edwardian throwback myself - not a smoker however.

Good luck to you and your pipe Sir.

My uncle used to smoke a pipe which gave off a delicious cheery aroma which when I loved when I was a kid. Also Condor - a very melancholy smell :).
