Hi all,

im on 1 meg unlimited with pipex with a rather crappy 50 mb of ftp space. I was aware i mwas quite close to the 50mb disk space about a month ago but needed to upload my cv (< 1 MB). now i have just logged into my webspace and everything has been deleted!?!?!?!?!

would an isp do this if you were to say go over the diosk space limit by a tiny amount, or would it even let me upload if i went over my quota?

pls help as im considoring ringing them about this.

Normally the file wouldn't upload if you were over your allocated disc space quota, the only reason i can see them deleting your FTP account is for having unsuitable material housed in it, I would just give them a call to see what has happened.

well they haven't deleted the account, just the files that were on it. There was also nothing unsuitable - just some word documents, personal photos and job related stuff :/

That's pretty poor if they have deleted anything rather than setting a hard quota limit, did you have a backup ?

Lucky (VERY VERY luckily) i had a back of the most important stuff - my CV and job related stuff - in a flash drive (that i bought from OCuK, hehe).

Tried to call em yesterday but before i even spoke to anyone i got a message saying i would have to wait 12 mins.....no thanks.

I've never been a fan of ISP services (Blueyonder email has never been it's strong point) since the first time I changed ISP years back and lost email etc. I realise it's not an ideal solution as it costs more but perhaps you would find a paid host may be a better choice ?
