Pipex- Suggest a suitable replacement ISP

I game, use the connection over a network via a router and wireless network, download and use p2p. Im leaving Pipex as the finance department is in complete squits and apparently hasnt charged me for *6* months, and now wants me to pay up all at once because of thier error.

The 2 main ISPs I've looking into are Zen and IDnet, as I've heard they're reliable, fast, dont throttle and the CS is meant to be a fair shot better than pipex.

Any opinions on new ISP choices please, as tbh, my pipex line hasnt been the best, p2p is throttled, pings can be variable, tech support has been awful previously, and my connection isnt the most stable.

If you have any other ISP suggestions please also let me know of these too, and why :)

You've chosen two of the best to look at. I'm with IDNet at home, mainly because they offer 30Gb (vs Zen's 20Gb) at the £24.99 price point. And I don't need the 50Gb Zen offer at £34.99.

IDNet have been great - send them emails, they reply or ring you back pretty sharpish. You usually end up speaking with the same person.

Another option if you want more bandwidth is the Enta Reseller route - UKFSN and Aquiss seem to be getting some mentions round here.
 
Anyone know how enta resellers are for latency and caps, ie do they throttle ports, do they get low wow latency without the troubles Nildram are famed for etc?

BTW. If I go for IDNet, is it worth, taking the risk with DSL Max, which may sync at 3MB or higher, according to the BT Speedchecker, or would I be better taking no chances and going for thier fixed 2Mb/sec service? Is DSL Max good with some providers, or is it just not worth it, and drops to low speeds in say the evenings with any ISP?

Just left Pipex for IDnet a few days ago.

It was set up all in time. Interleaving was on so I called them and have asked them to turn it off. Should be off tomorrow and I will be pinging fine. As a CS player I can say that with IDnet I have experienced very few lost packets and minimal choke compared to Pipex. On Pipex I had a constant 3-10 loss and 40 choke anywhere up to 1am :(

I connected at 4.5MB (max my exchange can handle so all good) It has been getting less and less everytime I connect but I have been told thats my fault. A friend told me that you have to leave your router on for a few days with ADSL max to get a stable connection or something? Can anyone confirm that?
 
Also looking now at Aquiss and UKFSN, although, since a lot of people seem to be jumping onto Aquiss, UKFSN might be better for constant low pings and high dl rate ;)
 
In that case, if I chose to go enta, it'll likely be UKFSN as the it costs a bit less to go through them and Enta directly for the same package as with Aquiss.
Has anyone had any experience with IDnet and Enta...Enta looks good, and seems recommended a lot, but am seeing stories of speed caps being placed in during busy periods. Can anyone shed light on whether these caps would even affect me as Im only meant to have a line capable of up to 3Mb/sec? Would it even affect me as I'd be likely to chose an office package, due to the lower contention ratio...

I have been with UKFSN for nearly 3 months now, speeds are consistant, pings are always low and support is the best I have came across.

I also read that the owner of entanet said that he would not allow any more registrations when the network hit its limit until they could upgrade.

They have just put another pipe in (not sure on size) but it just shows they are willing to upgrade.
