Anyone having trouble with these latley? Ive been lagged to hell and back on my online gaming, I have a 1.1mb service with them.

I thought ok enoughs enough and did an online bandwith test.

The result = 284.6 kilobits per second

I repeated this at least 10 times on my belkin router and its always 200 something. Ive only had this router 2 days so thought hmm maybe its this?

I installed my old usb speedtouch 330 modem and result was the same.

Anyone else getting such pathetic bandwidth?

Not heard of that, but do know the Pipex is not a great ISP at present, who were very good when they started,i,m with Nildram, and have been for years ,can,t remember ever having a problem or a disconection ever ! ;)

I used to be on Pipex, was good in the first year they became about. now I would not even rate them a 3.

I used to be on them too, migrated a month ago.
Was with them for about 3/4 years, and they went so far downhill, they were submerged in the ocean.

Any reason for these crap speeds tho?

Its 5am gettin ready for work just ran it again and got

455.3 kilobits per second

Think ive had enough.

Is there a d/l limit of 1gig a week and if i go over they lower my bandwidth? This is what i just got told, it works from thursday > thursday.

I have been with Pipex since 2003. Never a single problem... until now.
Last August I upgraded from a 2Mb line to ADSL MAx. On the 2Mb connection I always had speeds arounf 1700kbs - 2100kbs. On ADSL max I get up to 6000kbs but more often under 1000kbs. I contacted pipex and they gave me some BT speedtests to run a few times a day for a week.
I got tied into a 12 month contract but if things do not improve I will try and leave on "not fit for purpose". I also go a letter last week. They screwed up their billing and did not take the direct debit from me since August. They are now going to take £100 in one go :(

funny i got a letter today from them saying missed payments, funny that when i have a lot in the bank.

Ordering NTL today :) Pipex can kiss my backside.

I'm having the same problems but didn't know if it was my wireless playing up...

The wireless signal strength is always excellent but my internet speeds are rubbish for the majority of the time. I'm trying to watch a 4 minute Youtube vid at the moment but I've had to pause it until it loads, which has taken about 15 minutes so far.

The random disconnections made me think it could be the wireless. It would say 'limited connectivity' but the signal strength would still be fine so I really don't know.

I sent a complaint to Pipex a few months ago but got some stupid generic reply so I think I'm going to leave too.

Your not alone, i was downloading at 8kbs/s on my laptop .

Just did a speed test on pc

356.1 kilobits per second

Its a joke mate its not your wireless its poopex.

On Pipex Homecall here, getting absolute trash speeds of late, seem to have finally fixed my MSN disconnection issue by reinstalling my network card though.

Currently downloading something off rapidshare at 36.4kb whereas I used to consistantly get 500kb+ off it. Not best pleased tbh!

About download limits: they said 7GB a week and then it limits you on peak times. I can't have downloaded that this week...
