pirce estimation, watercooling

Look what all teh guys use on XS! All use distilded water for a reason! There is a post on there about have someone Fesser has gone bad and destroyed their blocks (well made them manky)

Ahh right. I better get in my time machine and go back 8 years and change the water before it all goes wrong and i have to spend 100s!!! lol. I had a rig running Seti 24/7/365 for 5 years, i had to clean the CPU block 4 times poss 5. O i still use the same pump and still have the pipes in the spares box! . But your right better not use it anymore I will order the £50 worth today.

Get a grip and stop believing everything what you read on the internet.

just cos you have good water in your area doesn't mean everyone does

I must have Super water then.
Let's ignore the FACT that i have use tap water and ethylene glycol mix for the last 10 years and say iam worng its ok with me if ppl want to spend £30 on fluid thats there call i just want to say what I use.

Just so you can see that iam not just some guy that wants to pick a fight.

CPU with 5/6 years uptime 3.2

I cant remember when the last time i cleaned the block 18mths? its been in a bag for 12mths (remember my res is NOT sealed(25l drum)

This pipe is as old as the block (6 years plus)

Is it a bit cold up there on your horse? Calm down woman.

Its not that, Its just as soon as anyone say just use bla bla bla ppl start with "O you cant do that you MUST use this and its £100000". It stops young lads or ppl without £300 spare to inprove there rigs.
You ask the Q about what pump to use :) ppl cant see or dont want to that the same pump in a dif box can be £50less from the right place. Put computer component on a box and its just a licence to print money.

Dont get me wrong you get a nice pump/res they look the dogs, but not everyone has stainless/shinny money . Aslo some are just happy with just running a bit cooler and getting better rates.
So lets put and run with some budget water cooling for they guys/girls that cant afford all the top stuff from the ofset

Hi, just built my 1st h20 loop all told came to £300, cooling both CPU + GPU, can't see the point not cooling the CPU as well, pays dividends in this hot weather.

My i7 [email protected] living room reached 25.5'c hottest core was 67'c, but the GPU is in the same loop as well. The hotest the GPU[5870:900/1300] has ever been is 44'c.

Got to agree with Danny_75 let it out of its cage, OC too at least 4.0GHz.

OLDPHART, what is your full watercooling setup that you have there? How easy was it to mount that rad onto the back of the ft01?

I have an ft01 as well and just wondered how easy it was to go watercooled with it, my oc's on air are a nightmare now that its summer, my room is stupidly hot most of the time :(

Hi Andyh, it was quite easy over all to fit the components, the main thing that bothered me was fitting the tubing. But got a bit of advice measure twice then cut, to fit the rad on the rear of the case l made a shroud out of a old 12mm fan. To give clearence for the two bottom fans and it worked very well the rad is rock solid -

My Components came to £300 -
Black Ice GT Stealth 360 Radiator.
Heatkiller CPU Waterblock Revision 3 (Socket LGA1366).
XSCP X2O 750 Dual 5.25” Bay Reservoir Pump.
XSCP Razor 5870 Full Cover VGA Water-Block.
Akasa AK-FN059 120mm Ultra Quiet Viper Cool Fan x3.
Masterkleer tubing, Fitting’s, PWM Fan Splitter Cable, Thermochill EC6 Coolent

Hope this helps m8.
OLDPHART.

Oldphart that is helpful thanks :)

Just to be clear, you took an old 120mm fan and basically took the fan part out of it so you were left with the surround/frame? From the picture, I assume the shroud is the one thats actually fitted to the top of the radiator, as there looks to be a fan on the back of the case?

Any particular reason for putting the xspc dual bay res/pump right in front of the 180mm intake as well, rather than mounting it in the drive bays?

Thanks

Hi Andyh , yes just took a old fan cut the supports that hold the fan in place, so your left with the outer body and yes thats a fan. Three all to gather using a PWM Spiltter cable.

MY top drive bays have a DVD-RW top and bottom, with bay converter in the middle with a SSD and 500GB HD but it has room for another SSD + HD. At the bottom right next to the fan is where the two HD bays were, one on top of the other, which allowed me to take them out getting max cooling from the fan when my 5870 was air cooled.

S o the res/pump fitted nicely in that space getting cooled at the same time and still letting the top half of the fan cool the GPU area, works a treat.

Thanks mate, you have been a massive help :)
