Hi guys,

I am off skiing with a couple of other OcUK'ers in two weeks time.

Just loading up my SE W800i with some music, I don't think taking the iPod skiing would be a good idea, I am guessing there is a chance the HDD could get physically damaged? Temps & Shock.

Anyway, my tastes in music are huge, I like pretty much every genre.

So far I have:

Audio Bullys - We Don't Care
Foo Fighters - Times Like These
N.E.R.D - Rock Star (Jason Nevins Remix)
Rammstein - Feuer Frei
Royksopp - Poor Leno
RunDMC - It's Tricky (SSX Tricky Remix)
Crystal Method - Born Too Slow
The Offspring - I Want You Bad

So, what tunes would put you in the mood for some Skiing?

I would be more concerned about the amount of attention you would be paying to slopes to be honest, I've seen a few people almost come a cropper because they couldn't hear what was going on in their surroundings when skiing/boarding.

But if the threat of legal action doesn't deter you in the event of an accident, it should be safe enough in an inside pocket.

I reckon Jokester is right, your iPod should be safe in an inside pocket, I've done that before with old cassette players, mini-disk players and I know my dad has been snowboarding with a CD player so as long as you don't crash too much you should be fine.

Having been boarding with music playing, I do also agree that it is generally better not to have anything on though, not even so much because you are more of a danger but it does mean you are less able to hear what other people are doing so if they are being unsafe or stupid you might not know. If you don't like listening to the people you are going with or don't care about the risks however ..... :)

It will be fine. Only problem you will encouter is a shortened battery life if its not close enough to your body heat.
