Ok, bear with me on this... Its utterly destroying me.
I am now back in hospital and I will be here for a bit, and so I got my wife to bring in one of my Laptops.
It wasslow, disgustingly slow, and it was so rotten for some reason, that I got her to bring in a different one... Thatis doing the exact same thing?
Itseems to be simply hanging on everything and so often I get the message that it has stopped responding.
Just now for example, I logged in to OCUK and I was sent the code and I opened Thunderbird and it took me roughly 2 minutes to get access to it. I then clicked back on FireFox, and that also hung too! - I waited for about 30 seconds, maybe more for it to respond.
Now, as I said the other Laptop did this too, and what I did, was reinstall Windows onto this one and so its fresh install or it was lastnight, and all the updates and drivers are now all installed.
As I said the other Laptop is displaying the exact same symptoms. I have of course checked the RAM for issues, and also the Hard disks. The specs should not be too much of an issue as they are both I7, one is a 2.5GHZ 4+4 Core and the other a 2.6Ghz 6+6Core. Both have 2x8GB DDR4 and both have Windows 10/64 installed onto an mSata and while one has 2x2TB HDs, the other has just the one.
They are both intel + nVidia GFXand all drivers and updates are up to dateand they are both fairly clean installs with nothing installed thats not needes.
They both ran just fine but now all of a sudden, they areboth running so badly,i they are simply borderline unuseable.
I am also watching the Task Manager and when they hang / become unresponsive, even if they take the taskbar with them, the task manager does not show anythign wrong? The CPU shows 4%to 11% and the RAM useage is showing 26%
Ok, I just clicked onthe TaskManager and when I clicked back on this page, it did not respond for a bit, so I just clicked again and clicked back and I counted 12 seconds... I am now piddlign about simply clicking on task Manager and then back and yes, it holds for 12 seconds!!! - Not even an old Celeron was this bad.
Its as if it has ZERO Cache!!!???
Isthere anything I need to consider?
I have asked the missus to bring in my Linux Laptop later on and see if that does any better cos this issimply useless like it is.
As I said, one of them is a full on fresh install and thats not helped.
It is not the RAM or the HDs ( I amvery sure as muchas I can be ) so, is it possible that he Hospital Network iscausing this, and if so... HOW?
