I posted a while back asking about how to get a driver for the Pitney Bowes 1630. I found nothing at Pitney Bowes. BUT.....I did find the answer and wanted to post it here in case anyone else has a Pitney Bowes printer and needs a driver.
You dont need a driver!! I dont know about other printers than the 1630, but in this case I accidentally solved the problem by printing a set up page which is generated internaly by the printer. I stated clearly in the text on this page that this printer simulated a HP Laserjet 4.
So I set up the Linux printer driver for HP LJ4....and guess what, it works!!!
So the printer is capable of using the old Hewlett Packard Page Control Language HP PCL
