From the OCUK support page:

7. TVs and Monitors. If your query relates to a Television or Monitor, specifically in relation to dead pixels, please be aware that all of Overclockers’ Suppliers and thus Overclockers UK conform to the ISO 13406-2 standard – the acceptable number of dead pixels based on screen size and resolution. Information on this can be found through any major search engine typing “ISO 13406-2” and the monitor brand name. Products with dead pixels of equal to or less than those defined within the ISO 13406-2 standard will not be accepted for return

this does not affect returning under dsr

My monitor has one dead pixel. Never thought about using a application mainly because everytime it appears I just tap the screen very gently and it goes :)

It only comes back once every blue moon :p

2 out of the 3 LCD monitors I have purchased for myself or my better half had dead pixels they got sent back END OF. If you don't think you will be happy with a blue dot on your screen just DSR it.

Dear OC it would seem that by quoting point 7 you are stating that the monitor conforms to specified parameters within the definition of normal operation.

Therefore it is the right of the consumer to return the goods under the DSR act. .... or are you saying you don't want it back as you can't re-sell it because it could actually be faulty despite quoting point 7 ?

Also despite whatever convoluted standard is quoted, if the monitor does not last a reasonable life time, or fails to meet its advertised description (including dead pixels as a potential feature) it could also appear to fail the sale of goods act.

Lastly a word of advice, if you buy from OC your contract is with OC and not the manufacturer. You do not have to take the issue up with a 3rd party.

Stores can put whatever they like int heir own T&C's keep in mind however they do not affect your statutory rights :)

DSR it I know I would.
All you need to say in your RMA request is that you're returning it under DSR

If it's a blue pixel you might find that a little gentle massage with your finger will bring it back to life. Just be careful not to put too much pressure on the screen.
