not happy new year for me as there was a stuck (I think) pixel on my macbook after removing it from the box :( The good news is that the pixel is the second leftmost pixel and about 5cm from the top so its really on the edge of the screen. However, I ve heard that it might get unstuck with rubbing or software since it looks green to me thus is stuck. Anyone got experience on this and results maybe?

I had an old LCD that did the same thing only it had 3 green pixels - (usually called lazy if they're coloured)

Anyway, I managed to get rid of them by gently rubbing a cloth over the OFF screen in circular motions for about 10 minutes :)

Another thing I've heard is that fast-paced video can sometimes help with freeing up lazy pixels, but i'd be tempted to try that WITH the rubbing method although leaving the LCD ON this time and see how you get on.

Hope that helps

I had a stuck pixel on an old LCD and found this program that is suppost to unstick it, it was basically a program that flashes rapidly on the pixel.. but that didn't work for me. This was quite a while ago on a PC, i can't remember the name of the program, but i'm sure you could find it with a bit of searching, i don't know if they have a mac version though.

Pressing lightly over the pixel with your finger (just so you can see a slight colour change in the other pixels) can do the trick. Don't press too hard or it can leave a patch of slightly greyed out pixels.
