Pixelated shadows/blacks

Hi everyone, sorry if this has been asked before (I searched but can't find anything).

I've taken two photos, both of which are night shots. Used a tripod and about a 15 second exposure. The gradient from black to the light sources in the photo are great in lightroom, little bit of noise but removed with some luminance (viewed at 100%).

I export it (no resizing and 100% quality on sRGB) and I lose the smooth gradients from dark to light and end up with a choppy pixelated mess.

This is the same when viewed in explorer, chrome and windows picture viewer.

Any way of solving this? Many thanks,

Kris

(I'll post the two photos later when I'm home from work)

It seems you are losing something somewhere along the export path but without seeing the pictures it will be difficult to form an opinion of what.

Viewing a couple of the images on my phone showed the images in a better 'light'. Which lead me to do something I probably should have done before posting. Calibrate my monitor.

While there was some compression going on from saving to jpg and uploading to Facebook/Flickr. It was highlighted by my poor monitor brightness and contrast setup. :o

Edit- the images that were in question. They now look okay with the correct brightness and contrast settings applied to my monitor.
