I've just fixed a problem with my printer, thought I'd share it here as it was an obvious fix that took me a while to think of.

I have a Creality CR-6 SE, it had generally been a good printer. I upgraded to an all metal hot end so that i can print ABS in the future. All worked well until the prints started failing, recently i havent been able to print anything; the print would start OK and then after the base layers were down it would all peel off into a sticky mess. Things would get worse no matter what I tried with temperatures, different slicers.

I don't really know much about 3d printing, so if it doesnt work I get a bit stuck. As nothing was fixing it I was getting worried that I may not be able to sort it. Eventually I looked at the nozzle and found that the hot end was covered in resin; at some point a print must have failed and got resin everywhere. I stripped it down, cleaned everything out and hey presto it's printing nicely again!

Anyway, Tl;DR check your hot end if prints are starting OK, then getting pulled of the build plate! I'm guessing I should do some regular maintenance to stop any resin building up.

Nice one found and solved, wouldn’t have thought about the nozzle. Although come to think of it I’m a bit OCD and briefly clean the nozzle before and after prints or filament changes with kitchen towel. Mainly so I don’t get any artefacts or colors bleed into the print.

Yeah I probably need to do the same; but I’m lazy. And I don’t really print that much so forget the process.
