Look forward to it arriving, though first thing i have to do before i can start playing is install Windows XD but no matter. Gave OcUK a quick ring to find out how long it would take to build and they said about 72hrs, so im gonna have to be patient.. :cool: That antec nine hundred case looked a bit too ugly for my liking, so i went with the RC-1000 (which has the sound proofing which is a big bonus). Also had to go to 4gb. I was going to give them a call and see if they could perhaps swap out that 4870 with an G260 (they have a This Week Only offer on a BFG one) but it didnt seem worth the hassle -- besides ive been using nothing but NVIDIA for a few years now, be nice to switch back to ATI for a bit.

Ok so you didnt need to know this, but i thought id get into the community spirit? :D
I was pricing up a system to build my own, even though I didnt really fancy it (ive done it before but i tend to be jinxed and end up sending at least one part back :o and just didnt want the hassle) but the TWO offer was too good to resist.

Just look after her OcUK, treat her with respect when you overclock the hell out of it for my gaming pleasure.... :p

Anyways, ill keep the thread updated. If nothing else it might help someone else who was looking to buy and wants to know how things turn out.

UPDATE:

Wow i got an email today saying the order had shipped, thats pretty damn quick considering. Unless its a mistake, it means it will (should) be here on Monday. :cool:
 
Damn it, looks like there are no 64bit drivers for the Linksys WUSB54GR. Damn them.

Oh well i guess im going to be sending it back and ordering something else, shame on Linksys. :o :( I should have checked before hand, but i was under the impression that Vista x64 drivers were a given for anything new.
 
thats really appauling on linksys's part. you would think 5yrs? into 64bt they would have made some good drivers by now!

You know, after looking at other offerings on OcUK and looking for 64bit drivers i have not been able to confirm the existance of any for those either. That's pretty poor.

What's more annoying about the Linksys product is that it appears to have "Certified for Windows Vista - x64" logos....

Yet if you look on their website, 64bit drivers are "The release date of 64 bit drivers is being determined.".

Course there is, playing games. :D Ok so it is fun building it yourself in some respects, but this deal is too good to miss. Why pay a simular amount and build the same PC myself with unknown overclocking potential when OcUK guarentee at least 3.1Ghz :) plus if i overclock myself i pretty much just chucked away my warrenty, at least OcUK offer a 1 year cover on it =) they look like great systems, and if the build quality is up to snuff i can see myself re-buying again in future because they are definatly more than competative against "well known" brands offering gaming systems.

Well it said it was ready for shipping, checked their link and Citylink does not have a consignment number yet. So looks like it wont actually get into Citylinks hands till Monday, in which case that makes it Tuesday (since it says its Next Day Mon-Fri). I ordered the day before so i was not sure which day it was shipped, eitherway its a pretty quick build and ship date which is good but hopefully not sacrificed any build quality there. But i shall see when it arrives. :)

Ill prolly keep the Linksys, dont really fancy the hassle of sending it back. It looks like there will be 64bit drivers eventually so ill just have to sit tight.

Oh ok thanks! Appreciated. I checked CityLink and the consignment still says "Job Number 'CM_ _ _ _ _' Does Not Exist". It wouldn't be that important but im out on Tuesday so i need to know when if its going to arrive then so i can re-arrange the time so i can make sure im in.
