Places to buy used lenses?

I'm looking at getting a 17-50mm 2.8 sigma lens, canon fit.

Other than Ebay, where are some places to buy lenses, preferably used?

MPB is the first place that comes to mind, never used them though.

MPB specialises in used equipment but WEX and Park Camera do part exchange/second hand gear too as do most established shops.

There's obviously Ebay but there's other communities with good private selling like the Talk Photography forums but you need to have been a member for a few months with a respectable amount of posts before they give you access.

Oh and don't forget the members market here

Some photographic kit comes up fairly often.

Any place where you can try before you buy really.MBP, Wex, or you local camera shop.

I would avoid ebay like the plague

I've brought used from MPB, LCE and Greys before. MPB and LCE have all been fine with descriptions on gear although Greys have been a bit hit and miss on what their "mint" rating is.

With that said, I guess I'll go with MPB
£240 for 17-50mm 2.8 doesn't seem too bad!

WEX let you fondle all the used gear before you buy. Might have a lack of showrooms though.

I mostly just buy off forums and ebay.

Got some bargains on ebay just need to pick your targets and avoid anything to cheap to be true! Got almost everything else from TP forums with no problems.

Lenses, Battery grips.

Nothing wrong with ebay, you've got a greater chance of buying a pos, but also it's much easier to return.
