Plain cruel, please sign

That is really sick i do hope what is said about it being fed at night is true as spending the last days of my life tied to a wall and just left while people came to look at you in that state would be awful.

I understand the whole people are sheep thing but was it said there and then when people were looking at it that the dog will be here until it dies? If this first one has caused such a stir what is the need for a 2nd take?

I wouldn't stop punching that ****** until every bone in my hands were broken and then I would just kick him till the point of exhaustion.

How the hell can the gallery and authourities allow that to happen?

Perhaps you should ask yourself how the hell can we let it happen in the street without much thought yet get angered when we see it here?

A little hypocrisy there.

perhaps because its in a country where they dont regard animals the same way we do

there are lots of countries in the world where they wouldnt think twice of letting an animal starve or beat it to death ,etc

they probably wonder why we care so much about what they consider meat

seems more like an experiment than "art", but then i expect art to be a beautiful picture on canvas as apposed to something stupid like a light flashing in a room or something.

Not exactly, a lot of animals/pets (ie cats dogs etc) you see in the street in that, wont come people because they dont trust them - they will run away etc.

This sick "artist" has either got :

a health dog and done this

or

gained the trust of a dog that is out on the streets

then done this to it.

Sorry but it is f*£%$^g sic, he has chained the dog up, and left it there awell.

The "artist" that done it should have the same thing done to him, along with the ***** visitors who view it as art.

Harming animals for art is just f%$£$%g wrong, i hope someone finds this "artist" and kills him because he f-in well deserves it.

The b$!"!£$

so this guy went about to prove a point that people wont intervene when something is wrong by doing something wrong and watching people not intervene. thats not art, its torture. just cause he has gotten people to talk about it dosnt make it valuable artistically to society.

lots of people still talk about hitler, does that mean the holocaust was art? i think not.

I don't let it happen in the street where I can help it. I have had the pleasure of helping and sharing my life with three rescued dogs so far. All life, except pretentious ****** artists, is worthy of respect.

That's because Hitler wasn't doing it to make a point.

Arguably, it's a small sacrifice to make if it gets people to take notice of the fact that people will take notice when it is paraded around as art, but not when it needs the help most, on the streets, starving and dying.

What's the sacrifice of one dog to the salvation of hundreds? The dog, if this were actually true, and he did starve, would be a martyr.

I was speaking to an Arts student the other day and they claimed that there is level of art than many people overlook.

Apparently many artists create what they know is absolute rubbish and call it art. All the trendies subsequently say 'aha yes! amazing art'. It is the act of showing the naivity of the public which is infact the 'art'.

Perhaps a similar case with that in the OP?

Either way, its horrible.

What a cruel and heartless thing to do, as ishiamaru said you can't do something like this in the name of bringing awareness to the plight of such animals and show the dog starving to death when no could help it - as said thats torture

But I think the artwork perfectly illustrates what it set out to do - the idea that people would rather have STRONG OPINIONS and do nothing, that people would rather have something that they dislike taken away by the authorities than examine just WHAT they're looking at...

It's not that black and white. What people are looking at is their own cruelty in doing nothing about the dog, but if people were to protest to the authorities and have the dog rescued, then they have resolved the issue. Your argument appears to suggest that complaining to the authorities does not alleviate their cruelty in doing nothing about the dog, which is not the case.

Unless you mean "taken away by the authorities" in the sense of censoring it in some way, like having him starve dogs behind closed doors, in which case I see your point. Out of sight, out of mind - that sort of thing.

I think cbs has touched upon something important. "the idea that people would rather have STRONG OPINIONS and do nothing"

I think he may well have been doing this to highlight the nature of a society who seem to like to express opinion but rarely do anything. There are a lot of comments in here about 'Something should be done' etc. That's the point. It's all very well spouting outrage on an internet forum but what are any of you actually doing about it? Nothing. Writing your name on a petition and you'll have forgotten about it this time next week. What did anyone there do about the situation? Nothing.
