Planet Earth II

One thing I'm always wary about is "do you interfere" as a human if you have the ability to? So in the case of those turtles would (or do) the camera crew 'rescue' as many as they can from the drains/litter etc or do nothing? It'd be a tough question as they shouldn't interfere with the "nature" part when they were being eaten by the crabs but once in the town it then becomes a human issue rather than a nature issue so I don't know what the protocol would be.

humans are interfering with their survival in the first place.

nice piece on the BBC earth FB page:

caught up on it today, catfish vs pigeon was the highlite for me.
the sze of the fillet you get of that best, no idea if edible or same species, but had blackened cat fish in america and thought it was really nice.

I've just noticed there's a 90 minute compilation programme (A World of Wonder) on BBC1 on New Years Day.

Good to see Planet Earth II smashed the X-factor Final on Sunday.

Previous viewing figures were:

1 "Islands" 6 November 2016 12.26
2 "Mountains" 13 November 2016 13.14
3 "Jungles" 20 November 2016 11.60
4 "Deserts" 27 November 2016 11.88
5 "Grasslands" 4 December 2016 11.54

They'll be very happy with that.

Planet Earth II 4k available for pre-order...on the US rainforest ($59.99). Still nothing on .co.uk.

I grabbed the collection for £22.99.

Even at 1080i, upscaled on the xbox one s to 4k, Planet Earth 2 looks amazing. The higher bitrate helps a lot, no artifacts and the colours are better.

I think he'll be the first 'celeb' that i'll be heartbroken when he dies. Every time i watch something he does i wish he was immortal.

There's a very short promo clip on the BBC iPlayer section of Catch up on the Sky Q 2TB boxes. a five minute loop of Ultra HD content with no commentary, just some of the amazing music. It looks very, very good.

Just watched the first few mins of first episode in 4k hdr and wow, this is the best looking content I've seen on my tv. It's like looking through a window
