Suprised there was no thread about this alread,

Planetside 2 launches on the PS4 today.

It's free (so what have you got to lose?) and a bloomin' good game, although it can be frustrating to play for new players until you get to grips with the scale - 64 player Battelfied this is NOT!

Will have to try and get some time aside to give this a proper go, I really enjoyed the original Planetside but had given up on PC gaming long before the sequel came out.

I played a fair amount of the first planetside way way back so will grab this tonight. Not really kept up with its development on ps4 so hoping for a pleasant surprise.

I played the Beta on PS4 it was OK but tbh I forgot about it so didn't play much. I'd like to give it a go tonight but I'll have Batman to play and Witcher is waiting after that.

Apparently it will be upgraded to the full version.

Do you know if the original closed beta will be upgraded too? I found PS2 hard to get into on my own, just had very little idea what I was doing

I played so many hours of the original and never had a PC good enough to play PS2 on. This is a rare time where a PS4 exclusive has gotten me v jealous as I'm sure I would put some effort into it!

I think it does, That is what i have installed, which was still going a few nights ago, i think it should update, reset the game and remove the Beta water marks.

Never played the original but put a decent amount of time on the PC version, very good indeed. I'm assuming there is no cross platform on this?

looks like a 2.2gb patch is rolling out that will update the beta to full :cool:

hopefully squad joining will be much easier now.

Pretty sure that you don't need Plus for any free to play online games.

Just started to download this. I really enjoyed it on the PC for a time but if it works well on the ps4, I can see it being a much more fun platform to play it on.

Just installing the patch but never played this before. Tried it for about 20 mins on PC couple years back but I don't really enjoy gaming on a PC - beyond RTS games so never carried on.

If I enjoy it it'll be something I play on and off so hopefully get can plenty people on there - few mates will be playing it no doubt
