Planetside 2 sniping - any advice

Hi I have a i5 2500k, gigabyte 7990 and 8GB playing 1080p

Originally very distant sniping targets used to be super clear, just small models at distance.

I did a reinstall of W7 and everything. All works perfectly but in PS2 at distance the enemy look like miniature bumbling rag dolls. Makes them really hard to shoot - much harder than before.

Game looks great, plays great, have everything up high.

Any advice from Pros appreciated.

Personally, give up on sniping, poor reward, the game engine also really punishes you for that game style, it's not your system, it's the game engine sadly.

If you enjoy it fair play, but sniping in the game is one of the most difficult/frustrating classes imo due to the engine limitations.
 
They seem to have broken something with ranged targets. They kind of just glitch about now like somebody moving under a strobe light which makes it really hard to snipe at range. My advice would be used the default 6x scopes and get more involved in the fights, stick to mid range as much as you can and support with motion spotters and emp nades to take out enemy spawn beacons. Infiltrators are really powerful as part of a squad.
 
I do love sniping, but I will be playing a more infantry role from now.

I noticed this yesterday, first time I'd taken out the sniper rifles in weeks, and they seem to have cut out half the animations on distant targets or something - targets were teleporting a few feet at a time rather than running.

Only wanted the few kills for the directive anyway, I felt dirty afterwards :D
 
Thank goodness for that! I thought my rig was on the Fritz!

Nothing dirty about headshoting folk 1.5K way - they were asking for it.
