I stumbled upon this project.

I loved the original Planetside and played it religiously. But I never really go in to Planetside 2. They shut down the servers for the original until now.

There are lots of bugs but just hearing the Planetside music makes me happy.

Most of the time there is no one online but it gets busier on Sundays.

If you crave some old school Planetside action then take a look.

On holiday at the moment but will be looking to jump into this!
By far the best game I have ever played even with its issues.
Grab a magrider and a good gunner and watch them kills roll in!

Woooah.
Blasphemy.
Vehicle fighting was way better in 1
You had a better idea about what direction you were headed as well ,number 2 is dumbed down.

Don't expect too much when playing. They've gotten quite a lot done so you can enjoy a fight, but it's still way off from where PS was orginally.

I was so angry when the originaly PS servers were taken offline.

I had a permanent subscription to the original PS as I killed a dev with a magknife in the Beta program when they were running a competition.

Bases we actually bases... vehicles actually felt like they had weight to them

MAX suits sitting on the stairwell on a tower and clockers runs in with boomers.... ah the memories

Planetside is one of them games were I don't wanna ruin the memory of. When I was actually good at FPS games and loads of free time :p

PS 2 was ok whilst I played it but never felt the same and ...meh.

NC for life :p

Jackhammer noobs. Loved hot dropping at the back door or on the roof and then taking down the generator or hacking the base. Or even making it neutral by destroying everything. I was mostly TR with my chaingun

I thought they put much of the origional content back in to PS2 in the last couple of years. Like Ants.

I remember PS1 being very buggy. E.g. you often couldn't see when people were shooting at you or the projectiles would appear to missing by miles but actually hitting you. They did a MUCH better job of keeping everything in sync in PS2 and everything just plays so much better.

I thought this was a new one, would love to see a new PS out, never played the first, played the second a lot.

Did try to play it more recently but couldn't get on with it, just looked so dated now, I remember the graphics being so much better in my head.

Think you're on about another game...

PS2 was a joke i frequently remember clip range being about <100 meters when it got really busy.
