Planetside on vista 32 HELP ! + ! + !

Hi

Thought id dig planetside out the cuboard today, havent played it for a good 12 months ! installed it , updated it and it just keeps crashing just before it loads the map. Now ive had a look around the net and know theres some compatability problems but apprentley it can be worked around by changing a few settings.

Has anyone got planetside to work in vista , if so please give us a hand

try this... go the the .exe file, compatibility tab and select run under xp sp2 conditions.

Go to where the game is installed, click the application file (should have the planetside logo or something as the icon) > Click Compatability and change it in there.

Right click the .exe -> click properties -> click compatibility, choose XP Service Pack 2 from the drop down list. You may also need to run it as an administrator (you can find this at the bottom of the tab), but see if the XP thing works first.

dont think that works, there is a long winded guide on the official forums and even thats hit and miss, the easy guide is it doesnt work, the complex guide, it may work

I have tryed the guide

Run in 95 mode > Deselect last 3 check box's but it still dosent work, ive also tryed it in windows NT and XP SP2

Surley there has to be a way :mad:

Got it to work eventually

Install it
Run the program compatability wizard and select "Planetside" to run with the following settings:
Use Windows 95 Settings and Disable the last three visual components
Turn off the Side Bar
This will get it running (you may get a file error, but click ok and it's fine), but it will be a LOT slower than you're used to. In order to get it back up to speed I recommend stopping several non-essential services (for the duration of your play).
