Ive received a free 30 days subs re-activation for PlanetSide, however i cant find my discs (this isnt an issue apparently), anyone know how big the download is for the full game fully patched?

I might be tempted to download and reinstall for a couple of nights action (will take some action to get some ranking back) if its not going to take too long :]

I have the three disks for Planetside if you need them. I used to play a lot but I have given up my subscription and removed it from my hdd so they are pretty useless at the moment. Even on Broadband its a bloomin huge game to download

yeah, i remember the beta wasnt exactly small!

anyone know if there has been a lot of optimisation in the game?
i remember when i had 1gb of 2700 ddr it used to use over 500mb :<

to DL the game is something like 3+gigs better to get the 3 disks of someone and a copy of there game directory i think.
I could make some copys if you like.

You still need a gig of memory to get it running smoothly. Lag is a lot better now though.

There does seem to be less people playing it ona regualar basis, But that doesn't mean its any less of a good game

Werner has a packet loss problem related to some ISP's I haven't had much look getting it sorted but hopefully there may be some progress soon.

how big is the packet loss? typically i wil only get about 0.5% or something small like that.
And which ISP's?

Don't know which ISP's but 3-6% is typical which is a real pain.

Apparently the routing to the server from some ISP’s goes through a dodgy link. One of the Werner guys is trying to get suitable traces so they can badger ISP’s to fix the issue.

It seemed fine with 1gb if you don't have every graphics eption enabled. For instance, it helps to turn Flora 'off', plus with it off you can see mines on the ground

Just fiddle with the graphic options a bit and it will run fine on 1gb.

The packet loss issue is really awful, im on NTL and get about 1% PL through the day but when more people startplaying around 6 or 7pm i get 3-4% loss :\

Make a character on the Emerald as well. Almost everyone that gets packet loss on Werner gets none at all on Emerald.

I've just started playing on that free subscription, i don't think i'm going to pay to play it, but if I can use my BR20/CR3 character on the free version i'll start playing again.

Just been playing with the new sniper rifle, but prefer the old bolt driver personally.
