Hey all,
I have upgraded PC's occasionally (graphics cards, ram, pci slots etc) but until now i have always bought pre built machines. I figured this time i would have a go at building one for myself. Though it seems there is never enough research to be done on all the possibilities!

Anyway, below is a potential list of components i am considering. Does it look like it should all work together ok? On top of that does it look suitable for gaming and expandability etc?

Looks ok, only thing I might add would be a after market cpu cooler if your planning on overclocking.

Not a fan of Thermaltake cases, have you looked at Lian-Li range.

:)

Looks good I would however

Get a better case termaltake cases are rubbish maybe antec 1200

I would also geta 750w psu as there only £6 more & would allow you to SLI in future

And get a better cpu cooler my choice would be this

Thanks for the advice on the case, in all honesty the case i am completely clueless on, can you recommend any that are easy to work with? ( the more clips and the less screws the better ). A window is always nice too!

Good point on the cpu fan. I probably wont overclock immediately but it is definitely something i will have a play with and do later down the line. Out of interest, what are the heatsink/fans like that come with the retail cpu's?

If youre not going to OC straight away then the retail one is fine, you could add an aftermarket one later
Case wise a large part of it is personal choice, but get a decent make like LianLi (plain) or Antec (fancy)
