Planning a Weekend break but where 2??

Hi all

Me and good friend have some time off next week and where hoping to go away to Newquay on Thurs 7th - Sun 10th, but from what we have read in the paper going to Newquay may be bad idea whith all these high tide warnings, so my question is where would be a good place to go for a long weekend? looking for plenty of nite life with good bars and clubs, any suggestions?

Are you still after a seaside town? If so, Whitley Bay is the first place that springs to mind. Newcastle just a short step away

Liverpool - tonnes of stuff to do in the day and probably the best night life in the UK (ooh contraversial, heck I can't spell..)
