It's a BenQ XL2411T. I was planning on getting a Ryzen 3600/5700XT build until i learnt my current monitor wouldn't be able to run the graphics card at 144Hz. Now i don't know what to do!?

I hear there are adapters but they are unreliable and very expensive so i'm stuck between...

a) Buying a new monitor dramatically increasing the cost of my build and leaving a as far as i know half decent monitor obsolete

b) Buying an adapter even though the price of it could go towards a more future proof monitor

c) Finding an equivilent graphics card that still uses DVI

Any advice guys? First build in 10yrs.

You should be able to get away with just getting a Display Port to DVI-D Cable for £5 or £10 just make sure the direction is correct ie PC DP to Monitor DVD-D

a couple of the RTX2060 Supers have DVI-D cards. I have the Palit one myself

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £718.49 (includes shipping: £10.50)

i looked on a review site and the HDMI only supports 60hz

Thanks for your reply. I looked at cables and apparently i'd need an "active" one which are quite expensive but can still run into problems regardless. I'll look into this a bit more.

I've been researching 2060s for the last hour in comparison to 5700XT. It seems 5700XT performs better in most games but is louder, has driver issues and of course no dvi! I definitely would prefer getting a 2060s over getting a new monitor to support a 5700XT which'd put my spend up by ~200. Why is there sucha different in price in those two 2060s? (excuse my ignorance)

Do you mean my monitors HDMI can only handle 60hz? It'd be simple if i could just use HDMI and get 144Hz with the 5700XT. Sadly my luck isn't that great. :(

according to the review i read the HDMI port was for consoles and only 60hz

well one is a premium brand and one isnt. longer warranty on the asus. I chose the Palit specically because i wanted a card that didnt exceed two slots and also wasnt very high due to case limitations. just be careful with the specific palit model. im pretty sure the one i linked to has DVI and is the one i bought , but they have another one that looks the same but overclocked a bit but it doesnt have the DVI, ask cutomer services if in doubt.

Don't know if you caught the post just above yours as you both posted at the same time but it appears that a cable won't help me. :(

2060s look like the way forward then. I take it you're very happy with your card. What do you game at with it? I guess i'll be 24inch 1080p 144hz. Hope it'll last me a good few years.

im using it on a 144hz 1080p 27" monitor. with BF4, BFV, COD-MW , Hell Let Loose, Arma 3. im very pleased with it. no clue about frame rates ive never actually take any notice as long as i have a smooth gaming experience im all good
