To be honest if you don't own a DS in any form. Getting the XL is prob a good idea.
But I mean to be honest, the screen is just bigger (not the res) so it will just be more pixilated.
When I broke my DSL (dropped it down the stairs ) I was going to buy another DSL. But I went for the DSI because it feels a lot more solid. I much prefer the location of the power button rather than the stupid push switch on the DS/DSL. The camera is crap but meh.
If you are not bothered about losing the card slot for your GBA games then I would deffo recommend getting the DSI over the DSL. But as for the DSI XL.... I personally would not like the DS any bigger than it is and the size of the screens on the DSI are fine imo.
Also LeJosh on the Knights in the Nightmare. It is a RPG I have my eyes on after I have finished a few other games. It is meant to be pretty good from the reviews I have read.
Heres a nice link that has kinda top 10 list. Its a really good site imo.
If you read about the DSi XL on the Nintendo site it seems to be aimed as a "household" DS. In other words it's the DS you leave lying around the house to play with friends/family around you and not really as a true portable like the DS Lite/DSi.
It is bizzare how some of the DS prices have gone. Some games have actually managed to go up in price dispite being an old game.
Mario and Luigi: Partners in time is a good example a used copy will cost you close to 30quid. Thats excluding the ebay copies as majority of them are "US" copies only and will not work on the DSI
