Planning to install a server 2008 - = MAC help

Not really server help as such, however i want to create a server 2008 domain and i have 2 MAcs running osx.

Can i get these clients to connect to resources on the network and how? any good guides?

Does it need AD intergration? can it not just connect to a network share, Its only a directory with photo stuff.
Like a workgroup PC with XP home?
