Hi all, Was wondering if anyone has these & has an opinion

I bought the 388 for one of my machines and like them but noticed the 788

Does anyone already have these and can recommend /Not recommend them

Thanks:D

Excellent budget 7.1 headset. You can't go wrong for the price just read the reviews on the product page.
I tried the £159 Rocat Kave 5.1 headset with its true surround sound and it was horrible. No bass poor sound reproduction.
If you dont want to spend a lot, like your bass and loud sounds then its a brilliant choice.
Also I sit next to the wife on her laptop and she never complains she can hear "noise" coming from them.
Only thing that annoys me is the cord gets curly but this is only minor. I have the 780 but there is no difference between
that and the 788 apart from cosmetics/slightly different look. Both have the same innards and use the same driver.

Don't touch the 788/780's, they will inevitably break on the plastic headband. It's a design flaw. The sound was above decent though but lacking in any real bass. They leak sound into the room really easily and the mic picks up a lot of background noise.

HyperX Cloud's (II if you want the USB soundcard functionality) are a much better option for similar money.

Have you even had one of these ? The bass is incredible! Plus I've had mine for 4 years now.

I really liked my 780's and its velvet material..wasn't heavy on the head or trying to crush your head, sound was pretty good as well..but for them just to snap like they did for me as BuToNz mentioned is just stupid,
The 788 are just a cheaper and lighter copy of the 780 and hope they don't come with the same snapping problem
I brought the G930's instead of the 788

Had a pair of 780's and went through 2x pairs of 788's (Both replacements).

The bass was really not great - but I do have a fairly high standard when it comes to audio quality.

In regards to the build quality - the 780/788 is overall good but that design flaw with the headband snapping will happen. No matter how careful you are, the plastic is just too brittle and strained in the spot above the rotational joint.
Perhaps I've just got a large head!! :p

You can't possibly be using them daily, or you've got a head the size of kitten. They'd of snapped by now.

Either way though, the HyperX Clouds are a much better buy for another fiver.

Also had a set of the 780's. Great sound and comfort for the price.

Inevitably the headband broke as has happened for so many others though.

I have 780s, had them for around a year with no issues so far and the headband bit is fine although I don't think it would take much persuasion to break it. Audio is decent, no complaints about bass and they also work with my PS4.

Definitely the case. I am extremely careful with all my things - I pulled the headset gently to put it on my head after about a year of having it, and the top plastic just snapped - I barely moved it as well (as I have a small head)

Sad because the mic quality was great for the price
