Any one know if this bug will eat aphids?

Thanks

If it's just a few plants in your garden and not some industrial scale farming thing, then I suggest a bit of washingup liquid (1 teaspoon) mixed with water in a spray bottle takes care of aphids.

I can't seem to find any lady birds, maybe they are extinct? I found this bug, and some of its friends in a nearby garden so was wondering if they were similar, they look like they could be..

But you need to provide suitable plants like Marigolds to attract insects that like aphids.

See this thread.

Bit of an update for that thread. The washing up liquid did the trick in getting rid of the aphids. I didnt measure it out, just squirted a bit in a spray
bottle full of water and blasted the critters off the plant with the stream setting on the sprayer.

I have checked it a few times now and they dont seem to be coming back.

Still going to get some marigolds to try and attract ladybirds though. It can only help.

you can buy live ladybirds to kill stuff above ground
live nemotodes to kill slugs etc (12million nemotodes is about £10 lol yea they are small :P you add them to a spray bottle or hosepipe with sprayer attachment and just water your garden :) )
