Is image retention still a big problem now a days ?

I tend to leave things paused and go away for hours or if im watching a movie at night then it will finish and the ps3 displayes a black screen with a pause logo and of course i don't want things burnt in to the screen.I keep getting told plasma is dead and its better to get LED but im not sure as all people ever bang on about here is the image quality of plasmas so im now stuck. The X60 to be quite frank is a piece of crap so i feel theres no point i have posted too many threads here about different tvs and enough is enough so i really need help on which route to go down and what are the best models. I like the look of the ST60 but its not in the budget. :(

Any Help will Be Appreciated

the X60 is a bottom of the range plasma, quite literally the worst model sold by panasonic.

£ for £ plasma pee's all over LCD, so if you think a £400 plasma looks terrible a £400 LCD is going to look horrific.

Again you have to be an idiot to pause things for hours and leave the tv turned on, why not turn the tv off and leave your box on pause? That's what I do.

Also after the movie has finished why are you leaving the tv on? why are you leaving the ps3 on also?

First of all your problems can be solved by turning the tv off.

Second of all IR is not an issue if you use varied content.

Third of all the tv has functions built into it to stop IR, pixel orbiter, lowering contrast and brightness for the first 400 hours of use, scrolling bar, as well as auto standby.

My tv is set to turn off automatically if I have not pressed a button for 2 or 3 hours. Therefore even if something blank was left on screen it would automatically turn off before any permanent damage is done.

Stop making threads, if you want quality you have to pay for it. Get a ST60 or put up with your X60.

We'll done I think I'll email the dons and vote for you to be **** of the year you're well known for your lack of knowlage and also for your stupid tone I'm sorry I don't have £800 to ******* throw at a TV I liked on the looks maybe you Can afford to chuck money at stuff like a millionaire. So of course I'm gonna make threads and think it over 40 ******* times before I chuck money at a TV which will be in my house for the next 5 maybe more years

then why are you making threads if you already know the answers?

seriously you have asked the same question several times now.

for your budget the best plasma is the X60.

google avforums and ask over there what they recommend for your "budget".

you do not need to be a millionaire to spend £800 on a tv btw

I didn't say you did have to be a millionaire to buy an £800 TV I said you would be one to chuck money at an £800 TV on looks alone

i base most of my tv decision making on the reviews over at avforums.

maybe you should look into their forums and do your own research? especially since you don't seem to be learning after your questions have been answered several times on here.

You are seriously ******* me off now how have they been answered if they were my problem would be non existent

Sort your stinking attitude out for a start.

People are helping you out here and all you seem to be doing is getting annoyed for no reason at all.

Now get off you backside, take the advice and go and do your own research.

Well said.

Okay i have done my own research and im glad i did as i now found a few other places where im likely to get pure advice rather than be called an idiot for falling asleep if im watching a film late at night or for not turning the TV off when i only went to get a drink or something and end up distracted doing something else maybe some people can sit at a TV and play games without interruption but quite a few folk cant.

I've left my Panasonic UT50 on paused for a few hours with no problems. My panel automatically dims itself after a prescribed period followed by switching itself off. Leaving the screen on paused and getting distracted happens to the best of us.

Hmm will bear that in mind thanks :)

i said the exact same thing as that post yet he gets a thank you, and i got told im getting a vote for **** of the year

lmao

Look, I think i may have just picked you up wrong i dont know if you did mean to come across the way you did or not but i think i may have just took your words the wrong way
