Well thanks for the advice guys, I will try turning the brightness and the contrast down a notch and see how it goes. I would say its more image retention then screen burn.
Here you go mate, I've just been reading this:

For what it's worth, in relation to LCD vs Plasma I was going to buy a Panasonic TH42PZ70B Plasma but after reading the
reviews on that site and adding heavy gaming into the mix I'm probably going to get the Samsung LE40M87BD 40in LCD
For HD and gaming, LCD all the way tbh, you won't regret it. Thanks for the link too mate.

Ive got to ask - who uses a Plasma as their main display for PC usage? Just cant see past screen burn especially when using it for desktop usage...
ps3ud0![]()
Playing a lot of games I've never noticed any screenburn on my Kuro. It does have an orbiter which helps. Not sure if other manufacturers have something similar.
Poor choice, the panasonic will be a far better purchase. Don't worry about screenburn, i tried out gaming on the pana PZ and poineer kuro and both were better for it than the LCDs i tried. PLus coupled with much better PQ, especially for SD footage, it's a no brianer.
Thanks for the info mate. I am not big at buying, or collecting DVDs though. THe only ones I buy are comedy TV series (Alan Partridge, The Office, Peep Show, Family Guy etc.) and animated films (Over the Hedge, Monsters Inc. etc)
I generally don't buy action films as I wouldn't really watch them more than onceas much as I love them!
Comedy has a certain replayability about it
I'll look into that Panasonic. However I might be moving soon, so will wait to see how much space I have in the new place to decide if a 50" is worth it(I hope it is)
I would like 50" by the time GTA IV is out
O dear, an extra £170 for a worse tv
Worrying about screeburn really is silly unless you leave static images on there for silly amounts of time. How hard is it to change channel or put the tv in standby after a while. Do you really leave setanta on for 5+ hours, or leave sky news/ bbc news on permanently whilst do other things.
I saw the lz and thought it was stupidly expensive, if you had gone for a sony LCD at the same price as the pana PX80 then fair enough, you want to game without having to think about anything playing on your mind, but LCDs still have noticable input lag, and thinking about green trails, phosphor trails etc, I have never ever seen a case of it on a plasma tv. Are you gooing to spend hours flicking through the same movement at a specific spot in a game just to try and find problems, or will you actually play the game and be soo engrossed that all you care about is enjoying yourself.
Sorry to be harsh, but bad bad choice, you could have got the PX80 and a number of films or games with the money you have saved, and had an awesome standard def picture, with a much better film experience thrown in as well.
ok im hearing you, I have cancelled the 37lzd80, gonna wait for the refund to kick in and then order the 37px80b.
Your right, im stupid. I cant really afford £775 anyway.
This plasma better be good.
