Plasma v LCD - which is best?

Each have there pros and cons, if you want a <42" have to get LCD. LCD offer higher resolution, less chance of screenburn.
Plasma offers better colours, and apparently better black levels (although so far from I've seen not true black)

Plasma all the way :) SD is comparable if not better than my old CRT.

Atm im trying to figure out a way to get a cheap HD box so i can watch all the hd stuff (like new premiership season) i dont mind paying the extra £10 a month.

Pioneer's new 8g panels are getting there

Was in currys the other day and they had x2 LG 42" tvs side by side with a hi-def feed. Don't know how they were setup or what the feed was, but the plasma version had noticably better blacks, although for some reason i prefered the LCD image. Can't put a finger on it but i just though tit looked more pleasing (in my eyes).

All down to personal preference. I love my plasma, feed it SD, or HD it scales it to its 'odd plasma' resolution (1024x768), and it always looks nice.

Naturally HD sources look best, but its still very good on SD.

To me LCD looks 'artificial' while plasma is more 'natural' looking. Panasonic's 10th generation plasma's are full 1920x1080 progressive, and are very impressive, but I'd rather have an old low res ED (854x480) plasma, than a full HD LCD for watching movies, and /or TV.

On the other hand, gaming LCD wins hands down due to the screenburn risk on plasmas.

Always prefered the image plasma TV's offer, so generally always stuck to them.

The correct choice depends on what its going to be used for, my bathroom tv for example is LCD due to the fact that it is often showing sky radio channels and other static images for long periods of time, wheras my bedroom one is plasma as it is used for normal TV viewing.

One of the things that sold a plasma to me was the increased viewing angle.

I don't think that is much of an issue now, with the latest LCD's.
My Sony has an S-PVA panel with a viewing angle of 178 degrees, which is as good as you are going to need, in most cases.
