One screw drivered Merc - This is an old car so was suffering with chips and dent's - The job was to make good worst bit's and spray it. It also has a body kit which leaved a lot to be desired finish wise.

Looks OK - far better than it came in.

I quite like that :) Plastidip isn't bad stuff. I've only used it on my E90 to make the silver interior plastics gun metal grey. Only did it because some of the silver bits had some scuffs which were annoying me so thought I'd give it a go and it doesn't look too bad - even with my complete lack of skill when it comes to painting things.

The finish looks pretty good from the pictures actually. However, I do think the matte black thing has been done to death now and black on black barely ever looks decent on cars.

Looks good mate :)

I've just taken delivery of my earlex kit mines going black like this but then I'm gonna hit it with some clear and some form or pearl, not decided which yet.

Which plastidip did you use btw?
I've seen premixed and industrial stuff that needs thinners added.

This isn't me who is doing this - it's mate over the road - This Merc had bad paint and body work along with screwdriver scratches so it does show up under Plasticoat - It wasn't supposed to be a top notch job - Plastidip is really designed for covering new cars to stop stone chipping -

So originally it was going to have the clear and satin finish on top but it would have shown up imperfections even more than it does now.

I know the matt was about £40 for 5ltrs - clear was £60 and satin was £90 for US gallon.

Spraying was easy - preping it was PITA.

What doesn't show up on pictures is roof and pillars have been carbon wrapped.- I didn't take the pictures.

I don't hate this
It's going to look awful in about 5 minutes though once a stone chip get on it.

Plastidip is old hat now.
Much better plastic type wrap paints out there that can look as good as real gloss paint.
Can even polish and wax like any other paint with the bonus of being able to peel it off

What the ..... leaved ....... It's left, that's bad , really bad.

Yea yea yea !!! - Senior moment - it looked wrong but I was tyred :rolleyes::)

Please remember this is what the owner wanted - Mate had no option on what finish was required

The bonnet has been extended over the headlights slightly - was done when wheel arches were added

There's a black plastidipped CLK around the corner from me. Was done about a year ago and looks absolutely awful, it really stands out how shoddy and tacky it looks now. It's probably been maintained really poorly but it doesn't inspire me with confidence. I'll take some photos next time I'm out.
