Playback stutter

So over the last couple of months I have started to get a stutter when playing back films.

I use VLC to play all my film media and this happens across multiple format and files from different drives (Sig pc).

This happens at least once in a 45min video and some times twice, the stutter lasts about a second or 2.

I have a oldish card but cooler is nice and clean and have decent air flow through the case.

I put the card back to stock but still happens so moved it back to overclocked settings.

Just for info the card has no issues with games at all WOT plays fine for 2 hours and no stutter.

Please could you give me some idea of the fault I may be getting?

Thanks

No, PC is used mainly as a media center, used for odd game as above and browsing.

Only apps running are anti Virus and team viewer but has been like that since day one

Sounds like either the drive is having a few hickups ( HD sentinel is decent for checking the life of the drive via S.M.A.R.T stats )

If this comes up with nothing then i would say try using a different media player for the same content and see if it remains.
