Played way to much

I'm never touching another Civ game again, I played many hours in one sitting and I look back and think did i really enjoy playing it? the answer is no. I just found it strange how I could played that long in one day I have not done that for years.

Too much BF2 back in the day. So much so that I got way behind with my dissertation, so smashed the CD and got it done!

BF2 is the only game I have really got in to, the only other game which has come close is Goldeeye on the N64.

I've done plenty of big nights gaming.

I think the one where I felt the worst though was playing Gtr 2, I joined a server in the morning and did all the practice sessions, all the qualifying sessions, the completed I think what was an 8 or 9 hour endurance race. It was awesome that the race time was real time, so by the time I finished at around 1:00am it was pitch black in the game.

My arms and legs were sore for days and I was too tired to do anything, think I was in bed for 9:00 pm for a good 3 or 4 days afterwards.

Well worth it though :D

Back this time last year when I was unemployed I'd typically spend 10 hours a day on Minecraft. Followed by two hours trying to get to sleep with Minecraft blocks forming things in my imagination.

Never again.

This is one of the reasons I stopped playing Minecraft...go to sleep after being exhausted on Minecraft, fall in to a nice dream - oh wait, there's me playing Minecraft. :p

My eyes usually never get sore.

But for MLG Anaheim i think it was i was up at 12, played starcraft till about 10, watched MLG till 7 AM, then GSL finals to 12. Probably longest gaming session, eyes burnt abit after that.

I use to play Everquest 2 till around 5-6AM a handful of times, you know it's time to log off when it starts getting light outside.

I played Daoc for 37 hours straight once....i was feeling absolutely awful, dizzy and vision becoming strange. It was a one off thing, not even played a game close to that in one sitting and now i probably play them 2h max in one sitting (usually around 1h).

I came in here to say DAoC as well, I did 18+ hour sessions quite often.

Back when civ 4 was new I just had my pc set up in my room properly (had the decent desk just set up) and being 16 with minimal things to do on a wet friday id play from getting in from 6th form at 4ish till the middle of the night, nap from 5am till about 10/11, play ALL of saturday again till 5am, play sunday till 11pm and then sit up for a few hours hammering the work for monday.

Horrible to think how I operated on 8 hours sleep on a weekend, 4L of coke and minimal exercise (plus civ 4 on marathon length was and still is in 5 amazingly engaging, planning how my empire will pan out took too much time some times)

Had similar problems with 3, but didn't have a pc in my room so got turfed off it when it was stupid o'clock (and now have FM instead of civ5 to throw my unemployed self at)

I used to feel like **** after raiding in wow, 4 hours with one 10 minute break, 3 nights a week. God knows how hardcore players do it.

And i think old age starts kicking in at 25 years old, because since then i just cant sit and play for hours like i did when i was younger :p

3 Nights? I used to raid from 9pm till 1 5 nights a week with 2 7 min breaks :/
but can still spend a good few hours on a game :P spend about 6 hours at a time on sc2 :P

Jedi academy multiplayer - base, ja+, and MBII, plus a few others.

Countless hours over the years, and a few long sittings in the past (though long for me is <10 hours ;)).

Finally kicked the habit earlier in the year, and in fact same goes for any online multiplayer - I find multiplayer in general too much of a time sink, with no real point to it. I restrict myself to singleplayer stuff with a good story and a meaningful experience now - casual, enjoyable, and no strain on life. :)
