Hey guys,
My 22" Widescreen monitor should be coming tomorrow and so will my VGA cable,I believe my monitor does not have a switch between VGA and DVI so I'm wondering how do I play 360 on my monitor, does my PC have to be off or unplugged from the monitor in order to do so and vice versa?

Thanks.

Sometimes you can switch between them using those On Screen Displays on LCDs (that let you change geometry/colour etc). Depends on your monitor really.

I play on my Samsung SM226BW. PC via DVI, Xbox 360 via VGA. There's a button on the monitor that allows me to switch between the two. It's quite nifty ;)

PC...Xbox...PC...Xbox....PC...Xbox!

The monitor I ordered is a Cibox 2201D,a cheap monitor which I'm guessing won't have these kinda nifty features.:(

Ah in that case I guess unplugging from the back would be the only way if the Cibox doesn't have a source button. You never know though you might be surprised and find one on there its not that advanced a feature really.
Fingers crossed.:)

Ive had a quick look around, and the Cibox apparently only comes with VGA, and not DVI as stated. But apart from that reviews have been fairly good for it.

I went for the 2201D version which does have DVI.
It arrived about 30mins ago, using it right now.:D
Good news, just playing round with the buttons and it seems that I can select input signals from Analog to Digital and vice versa.
Now just waiting for my mate to contact me about bringing his VGA cable over.

Bumping this back up cos I have another problem.:p

I was going to use the built in monitor speakers for the 360 but with the 3.5mm adapter its way too big to plug it in(the line in jack is directly above the stand(the stand is in the way):( Now I'm wondering is there anyway to use my PC Logitech X530 5.1 speakers on the 360?

Line in on PC to Line Out via PC Speakers? That would mean the PC would be on, but you would recieve audio.

Can you not afford a 5.1 w/ Optical solution though? I couldn't stand my pseudo 5.1, the difference between that and DD 5.1 is huge.

May have to go for the Line In on PC then Line Out.
Say if I want to use the monitor speakers can I get something like a 3.5mm jack extender?

I currently cannot afford new speakers as I'm goin Uni next week, just bought a new monitor, need to pay for my car insurance and need to spend £150 on Architectural Drawing equipments.:(

I've got this cheap and rubbish motherboard tho which has only 3 Audio Ports, those being Line In,Line Out and Mic ports. You use these 3 ports to plug in the 5.1s. So if I so the Line In for the 360 it will be something like 3.1 or 4.1,which I know will be better than monitor speakers but it be bit of a pain to swap the plugs from 360 back to speakers everytime.
