Playing audio torrents

Hi,

I've just downloaded some audio files using bittorrent which are supposed to be mp3 files but when I try and play them back I receive a message saying the file has a file extension which doesn't match the format so I can't play them. However, I've previously downloaded audio files via BitTorrent which play fine.

Any ideas how I can get around the problem?!?! :confused:

hmmm, via bittorrent eh? What are these audio files?

First it sounds illegal

Second, what are you using to play them with?
Third, are you sure they haven't corrupted in some way through the transfer?

what is the file extension? Maybe they just need renaming?

When it's fully downloaded then the file extensions will change to mp3.

So i've heard.

They're audio book files with a .mp3 extension (apparently!) - I've tried using quicktime and Windows media player but getting similar messages, some regarding rendering problems??!?!?!?

Yea the preview facilities aren't always that good (or so I've heard)
