A guy I know is trying to play recorded footage from his CCTV equipment which was put onto CD by the security company that deals with the equipment.
It comes in two files, an IDX extention file and another file which has no extention but going by its file size, it must be the actual video.
A software video player is on the cd develeoped by Qtum Inc which is supposingly used to play the video but we cannot get it to work. I have tried a few programs on the net but I still can't get it to work.
This CD is meant to be handed to the cops when a crime takes place but its of no use when we or the cops can't play it. The security company say it should work but I have tried but it doesn't.
I take it these security recording machines encode the video in a specific format which cannot be played by other software I know of so if anyone has any suggestions, then I am grateful.
